IVIS® Imaging System 100 Series Components: CCD Camera and Imaging Chamber, Acquisition Computer with Living Image® Software and High-Resolution Monitor, Cryogenic Refrigeration Unit, and Camera Controller.
The IVIS® Imaging System 100 Series is a sensitive and large field of view imaging system. The IVIS® 100 Series offers an adjustable field of view of 10-25 cm, allowing 5 mice or 2 large rats to be imaged. The system features a 25 mm (1.0 inch) square back-thinned, back-illuminated CCD, which is cryogenically cooled to –90°C via a closed cycle refrigeration system (without liquid nitrogen) to minimize electronic background and maximize sensitivity. A patented and extremely light-tight, low background imaging chamber allows the IVIS® 100 Series to be used in standard lab lighting environments. The system includes animal handling features such as a heated sample shelf, gas anesthesia connections, and an optional full gas anesthesia system. The IVIS® Imaging System 100 Series is highly automated with all hardware motor movement, imaging parameters, and image analysis controlled via Living Image® software.

Living Image® Software from Xenogen controls the imaging process as well as image acquisition and analysis. Data analysis versions of Living Image® software run on both Windows® and Macintosh® platforms.
Controlling Computer and Software
- Windows®-based control and acquisition computer and monitor, with Living Image® software installed
- Living Image® software from Xenogen is patented and custom-designed to control the IVIS® Imaging System, as well as display and analyze image data
- Desktop copies of Living Image® software are available for both Windows® and Macintosh® platforms
Fluorescent Imaging
The XFO-12 Fluorescence Option adds fluorescence imaging capability to the IVIS® Imaging System 100 Series.
