Facilities
The BRIC members have access to a variety of imaging systems for both human and animal studies.
A unique aspect of the BRIC is the ongoing development of a small animal imaging (SAI) facility. This facility incorporates a group of rapidly developing imaging technologies – including ultrasound, luminescence microscopy, MRI and microCT—that together allow the resolution necessary for analysis of small animal models to compare common genetic diseases in humans.
There are also systems that are scattered throughout the campus of UNC that are available for use in research. The equipment is made available based on home department policies. See the list of available imaging systems for access policies.
